INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
Instructions for oral presentation
During the 5th Zebrafish Meeting the Speaker Ready Room can be found in the
Art Room.
Opening times will be as follows:

Check in at the Speaker Ready Room at least 2 hours before presentation time
to check your slides, to copy your
presentation onto the network and to check the demo of your presentation with
the audiovisual staff.
Rules & regulations for oral presentations:
- Only PowerPoint presentations made in Microsoft Office 2003 or
earlier versions will be accepted. Picture and animation links to the Internet
or to other files will NOT be accessible.
- When preparing your PowerPoint presentation, please bare in mind that
presentations will be projected in a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. All
video/data projectors (beamers) at the meeting can visualize these resolutions
without a problem. Use standard Windows fonts only, .24 font size can be read
easily.
The following codec’s will be available for use;
- Integrated audio files such as mp3 or wav
- AVI and MPEG movies, integrated in a PowerPoint presentation, using the following
- XviD Version 1.2.0
- DIVX Pro 6.2.2
- 3ivX Pro [Version D4 4.5.1]
- Ligos Indeo XP
- MS MPEG-4 [version 4.1.0.3927]
- MPEG-4 Low and Fast motion [version 4.1.0.3927]
- Ligos MPEG-2 decoder [version 4.0.0.77]
- Cyberlink MPEG-2 decoder [version 6.0.0.2023]
- MainConcept MPEG-2 decoder [version 1.0.0.78]
- QuickTime codecs [version 7.0.2]
- Windows Media Player 10
Should movies embedded in a presentation not work, in that case they will be converted to a format that PowerPoint accepts through the EO Video® program.
The next items need extra attention at the Speaker Ready Room:
- *.mov and *.tif files integrated in PowerPoint
- Hyperlinks inside a presentation
- Starting movies by clicking on it
- Flash movies
When movies are used in a presentation, they should be set to start automatically, because it is NOT possible to click on a movie when using the Cue-it ® system.
If you use a MAC please make sure you check in early at the SSR. Your presentation has to be converted to a pc format.
- The use of your own laptop during your presentation is
prohibited
- We strongly advise you to bring your presentation to the Speaker Ready
Room on CD-Rom, DVD (data), USB/Flash discs or ZIP drives to check the
presentation with the technical staff at least 2 hours before your
presentation starts. You may also bring your own laptop, but just for copying
your presentation onto the network.
- If you wish, you can send your PowerPoint presentation, including your
personal and session details, before Friday, July 6 to the following
e-mail address:

Despite this service, we strongly advice you to bring a copy of your presentation on CD-Rom, DVD or USB memory sticks to the meeting!
- Single-, double slide and overhead projections will NOT be offered during the Zebrafish Meeting
Instructions for poster presentation
Size Poster Boards
Size of poster board: 150 cm wide and 100 cm high
Size of usable area: 148 cm wide and 98 cm high
PREPARING YOUR POSTER
Text on poster
- Use a clear typeface and, if possible, a laser printer.
- The poster should be readable from a distance of 2-3 meters. This means that all lettering should be at least 8mm high.
- Please prepare a title banner for your poster to be hanged across the top of the poster board. The title banner should have a width of max. 148 cm and should state the title of the presentation and the name(s) and affiliations(s) of the author(s). Lettering on the banner should be at least 20mm high.
Graphs and diagrams
- Graphs and figures should be readable from a distance of 2-3 meters.
- They should be drawn with a minimum line width of 1 mm.
AT THE MEETING
General Information
- One poster board will be allocated for each poster presentation.
- A printed number identifying each poster board will be provided. See abstract code in your confirmation letter.
- Material and color of poster board: hard board, colored white and an aluminium frame
Location
- Posters will be presented in the Poster Area, which is located behind the Exhibition area (Onyx Lounge).
Poster Mounting
- · Posters should be mounted during the meeting.
- Posters should be mounted with push pins provided by the meeting organiser.
- Assistance and material for mounting the posters will be available from set-up time (see below), at the poster desk in the poster area.
Poster Viewing and Presentation
- Posters will be on display in the poster area for three days.
- Poster authors are requested to be present at their poster during the poster session on Friday (see below).
Removing your poster material
- Material should be removed before 12.00 hours on Sunday 15 July.
- If posters are not removed within the time for dismantling (see below), your poster will be removed and destroyed by the meeting secretariat.
